On 4-5 June, the European Innovation Council hosted an EIC Multi-Corporate Day, bringing construction and infrastructure leaders Ferrovial, Acciona, ACS, Sacyr, and Vinci with 18 EIC-backed start-ups from 10 countries. The selected companies, chosen by the corporations and trained and coached by the EIC to align with their innovation priorities, presented their solutions during in-person pitching sessions at South Summit 2025 in Madrid, followed by tailored one-on-one meetings aimed at driving concrete business outcomes.

This acceleration activity, part of the EIC Business Acceleration Services, was designed to foster collaboration between innovative EIC-backed companies and leading European corporations, offering support to stimulate potential co-development partnerships, pilot programmes, and strategic investments.

This EIC Multi-Corporate Day perfectly reflected what ACS stands for in terms of innovation, uncovering the most disruptive start-ups in the construction and infrastructure sector. It’s truly inspiring to see how these 18 carefully selected start-ups, chosen through a highly competitive process, are presenting solutions with the potential to transform our industry.

For participating startups, this EIC Multi-Corporate Day represented an opportunity to engage directly with key decision-makers from Ferrovial, Acciona, ACS, Sacyr and Vinci:

"Participating in this EIC Multi-Corporate Day was a great opportunity for us as we are starting full commercialisation of our Widmo Cities project. We were fortunate to meet with five of Spain’s leading companies in the construction and infrastructure sector. It is notoriously difficult for start-ups to find appropriate people within large corporations who can understand the value of innovation and act upon it. Having access to such high-level meetings in a dedicated space was an opportunity that has the potential to create a lot of value for us and the construction industry,” said Greg Wabik, Business Development Associate at WIDMO Spectral Technologies.

"Our experience at the EIC Multi-Corporate Days with Ferrovial & Partners at South Summit has been great. The tailored training and hands-on support from the EIC team through the event planning process have been invaluable. Their commitment to bringing the most relevant stakeholders to the table ensures high visibility for the participating start-ups. For us, this truly sets this initiative apart,” noted Stefka Mihailova, Senior Sales Consultant at IRIS AI.

In addition to high-level networking opportunities, this exclusive acceleration initiative includes post-activity support for start-ups and corporate partners to maximise the impact of business proposals.
