PCP WISE OMC: Water Management Innovations For Climate Resilience

    Join the PCP WISE Open Market Consultation (OMC) – Shaping the Future of Water Resilience with Earth Observation Technologies 🌊🛰️   About the PCP WISE Initiative PCP WISE is a Pre-commercial Procurement (PCP) action funded by the European Commission’s Horizon Europe Programme and selected under the call HORIZON-CL6-2024-GOVERNANCE-01-5. PCP WISE plays a key role in advancing the European Green Deal’s objectives by enhancing the use of Environmental Observation (EO), data and products. PCP WISE has an allocated budget of €19 million, including €12 million for financing the R&D phases of the PCP, aimed at developing cutting-edge solutions for up to TRL8 for water management and climate resilience across Europe. The PCP WISE vision is enabling smarter, data-driven climate adaptation through a Europe-wide service for monitoring the Soil-Water-Vegetation (SWV) system. By addressing both fast-onset (floods, wildfires) and slow-onset (droughts, soil subsidence) climate impacts, PCP WISE aims to support operational decision-making at the local level, using Earth observation and advanced hydrological modeling.   PCP WISE Open Market Consultation: join the next event! Running from April 2 to June 30, 2025, the PCP WISE OMC offers technology providers, research organisations and stakeholders a valuable opportunity to gain early insight into the upcoming Call for Tenders and contribute directly to shaping its requirements. The event enables engagement with the consortium of public buyers, led by Het Waterschapshuis (NL), and provides a platform to showcase expertise in areas such as civil engineering and hydrology, remote sensing and crisis assessment, as well as ICT and operational data processing. The next OMC event is taking place in Brussels during EXPANDEO, the annual conference hosted by the European Association of Remote Sensing Companies (EARSC), and will emphasise market engagement through awareness-raising, audience feedback, and consortium-building support. A brief presentation on PCP-WISE needs and procedures will be followed by a panel discussion addressing audience questions.   Innovation Partnership for the Development of a Maritime Digital System (S-100/S-200) BRESTPORT, SEATOPIC, École Nationale Supérieure de Navigation About Launched as part of the European project Overheat, a group of three public buyers - BRESTPORT, SEATOPIC, and the École Nationale Supérieure de Navigation (ENSM) – launched an Innovation Partnership with the aim to develop a next-generation maritime digital system. The contracting authorities, each with complementary missions in economic development and maritime education, have launched this collaborative effort to foster technological innovation and enhance the safety and efficiency of maritime navigation The Challenge The challenge focuses on the development of next-generation maritime digital systems compliant with S-100/S-200 standards, including advanced Vessel Traffic Services (VTS), Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems (ECDIS), and Pilot Portable Units (PPUs).  These systems—covering VTS, ECDIS, and PPUs—must not only integrate complex digital maritime data but also ensure interoperability, real-time responsiveness, and enhanced navigational safety. The project demands cutting-edge technological development, rigorous testing, and seamless coordination among public, academic, and industrial stakeholders within a highly regulated and safety-critical environment.
